How to Configure Mobile VPN User from Windows L2TP Client to UTT router

Configuring a UTT Router as a L2TP VPN Server
Creating a L2TP Dial-in Account for Mobile Users
Go to the VPN > PPTP & L2TP > Dial In (Server) page, select Mobile User from the Tunnel Type drop-down list, specify User Nameand Password for the account, and then click the Save button, see the following figure.
Configuring VPN Address Pool
Go to the VPN > PPTP & L2TP > VPN Address Pool page to configure the VPN address pool. In this example, Start IP Address is 10.10.10.10, Number of Addresses is 50, see the following figure.
3. Exporting Windows Registry File
The default Windows 2000/XP L2TP traffic policy does not allow L2TP traffic without IPSec encryption. You can disable the Microsoft default behavior by editing the Windows Registry Editor, the steps are as follows:
Go to VPN > PPTP & L2TP > Dial In (Server) > PPTP/L2TP List page to click the Export Windows Registry File hyperlink to download the registry file (l2tp.reg) to your local PC, and then run this file to modify registry, afterward restart the PC for the changes to take effect.
Note:
1.The remote LAN subnet, local VPN subnet and VPN address pool range should be in different subnets.
2.If your PC cannot successfully establish a VPN tunnel with the UTT router, please temporarily disable firewall on the PC and try again.
Configuring a Windows XP-based Computer as a L2TP Client
Go to Start > Control Panel > Network Connections, Click Create a new connection.
Note: Please enter the VPN server’s public IP address or domain name in the Host name or IP address text box.
Before connecting the VPN, click Properties to modify the L2TP configuration.
Disable the checkbox Require data encryption(disconnect if none)
Click OK and connect this L2TP VPN tunnel.
