How to Configure Port-Based VLAN on a Switch
This document applies to the firmware version SG3124Fv2.0EN.
 
User Requirements
A user has a SG3124Fv2 switch and 24 unmanaged switches in the internal network. He wants to use the SG3124Fv2 switch to divide the network into 3 VLANs to effectively isolate broadcast and multicast traffic.
  • VLAN 1: Ports 1, 16-24
  • VLAN 2: Ports 2-8
  • VLAN 3: Ports 9-15
 
Configuration Steps
1.Login to Web UI, and go to the Advanced > VLAN page.
2.Select Port VLAN from the VLAN Mode drop-down list, and then click the Save the button, see the following figure.
 
 
Select the Port VLAN Settings tab to add a new VLAN that contains ports 2-8 (VLAN ID is 2 in this example), and then click the Save button, see the following figure.
 
  1. Select the Port VLAN Settings tab to add another new VLAN that contains ports 9-15 (VLAN ID is 3 in this example), and then click the Save button, see the following figure.
  1. Select the Port VLAN List tab, click  icon of VLAN 1 to go to the Port VLAN Settings page, remove ports 2-15 from VLAN 1 to make it contains only ports 1 and 16-24, and then click the Save button, see the following figure.
The configuration is now complete.
