User Requirements
A company’s network uses a UTT Router to connect to the Internet. Now it wants to open remote desktop service (Protocol: TCP; Port: 3389) on a local computer (IP Address: 192.168.16.3), so that external users can connect to the computer and manage it over the Internet.
Configuring a Port Forwarding Rule on UTT Router
1. Login to the Web UI of the UTT Router.
2.Go to NAT > Port Forwarding page, and then click the New button or select the Port Forwarding Settings tab to go to the setup page, see the following figure.
3. Select TCP from the Protocol drop-down list.
4. Enter a free port number in the Start External Port text box. It is suggested you use a port number greater than 1024, 9900 in this example.
5. Enter the local computer’s IP address in the Internal IP Address text box, 192.168.16.3 in this example.
6. Enter 3389 in the Start Internal Port text box and leave the Port Count the default value of 1, as RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) uses TCP port 3389 by default.
7. For a multi-WAN router, select the WAN interface to which this port forwarding rule is bound. The port forwarding rule will use the selected WAN interface’s IP address as its external IP address.
8.Click the Save button to save the settings.
The configuration of the port forwarding rule is now completed.
