This document applies to multi-WAN devices with ReOS V10 and newer versions.
Overview
The UTT multi-WAN devices provide intelligent load balancing and failover to increase your total bandwidth while helping ensure uninterrupted network connectivity. Moreover, it allows you to assign different weights to Internet connections according to their bandwidth to maximize bandwidth usage.
Configuration Example
Let’s take the following for example:
WAN1 Connection Bandwidth: 10M
WAN2 Connection Bandwidth: 20M
Since the bandwidth of WAN2 connection is about twice that of WAN1 connection, you can assign the weights to WAN1 and WAN2 as follows:
WAN1 Connection Weight: 1
WAN2 Connection Weight: 2
Then the traffic will be proportionally assigned to WAN1 and WAN2 according to their weights. For example, if total outbound traffic is 15M, 5M will be sent out through WAN1 and 10M will be sent out through WAN2.
The configuration steps are as follows:
1.Login to the Web UI, and go to the the Basic > Load Balancing page. Note that theLoad Balancing sub-level menu item will not be displayed unless you have configured more than one Internet connection.
2. Click the Edit hyperlink of WAN2 connection in the Load Balancing List to go to theDetection & Weight page, set the Weight to 2, and then click the Save button, see the following figure.
Note that the default value of Weight is 1, so please leave WAN1 connection’s Weightat the default value.
