How to Configure PPTP VPN Server and Mobile User Account on UTT Router

Introduction

This document describes how to configure PPTP VPN Server and mobile user account on UTT AC750W.

Prerequisites

Requirements
Configure VPN Server on AC750W, the user who is on business trip can connect VPN server to visit Intranet File Server.

(The router has connected Internet successfully before configure VPN)
1. Create VPN Server.
Go to “VPN > PPTP ” page, click “Add Server”,  as shown in Figure 1-1:

2. Enable VPN Server.
At “Global Settings” page, enable “Enable PPTP Server”, enter “Primary DNS Server”, then click “Save”, as shown in Figure 1-2:

3. Configure VPN Server
At “Account Settings” page, enter the related information, then click “Save”, as shown in Figure1-3:

Tunnel Name: Specify a unique name for the PPTP tunnel.
Tunnel Type:
  • LAN-to-LAN: It allows two LAN sites to securely connect over the Internet. In this case, either a UTT VPN gateway or compatible VPN appliance can act as a PPTP client.
  • Mobile User: It allows remote individual users to securely connect over the Internet. In this case, a laptop or desktop computer will act as a PPTP client.
  • User name/Password: Specify the user name and password for the PPTP client.
