How to Create and Manage Two Subnets on a UTT Business Router?

Purpose

The office needs two subnets. One for office devices, and the other for guest devices. This document describeshow to configure and manage two subnets on a UTT Business Router.

Prerequisites

  1. AUTT Business Router (hereinafter referred toas “the Router”), such as UTT router N518W, AC750W, AC750GW, and etc.Firmware Version: 1.7.0 or above.
  2. APC connected to the Router, either through its LAN port or wireless network.

Configuration

  1. Launch an Internet browser from the PC/laptop and enter 192.168.1.1 in the address bar.
  2. Enter the Router username and password when prompted (default username: admin, default password: admin). Please refer to Figure 1-1.

  1. Go to the LAN page under Network.
Click Advanced Options.
Configure IP Address 2 as 192.168.3.1. Please refer to Figure 1-2.

  1. Connect all the office devices to the Router wired or wirelessly.
  2. Find DHCP Auto Binding under Network > DHCP Server and enable this function. Please refer to Figure 1-3.

  1. You can check the bindeddevices and change the name of them by clicking the Static DHCP tab on the above page.

  1. Now all the office devices have been bound and they will automatically obtain the same IP address whenever they connect to the router.
  2. Disable DHCP Auto Binding.
  3. Find the DHCP Server page and change the following parameters.
 
Start IP Address: from 192.168.1.100 to 192.168.3.100
End IP Address: from 192.168.1.200 to 192.168.3.300
Gateway IP Address: from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.3.1

  1. Now when any guest device connects to the router, it will automatically obtain an IP address in subnet 192.168.3.x.

Note

If new office devices need to be added to the office subnet, click Add on the Static DHCP page and add them in.
