How to Allow Users Access Internet via PPPoE Accounts Only on a UTT Business Router

Introduction
PPPoE server is commonly used solutions in the network for apartments, rental houses, hotels and so on. If Mandatory PPPoE Authentication is enabled, all clients connected to the Router (except for those in the Exception Group) will have to dial up with PPPoE accounts.
 
Prerequisites
1. a UTT Business Router (hereinafter shorted as “the Router"), such as UTT router N518W, AC750W, AC750GW, AC1220GW, ER518, ER840G and ER4240G. Firmware Version: 3.0.0 or above
2. a PC/laptop connected to the Router wirelessly or through an Ethernet cable
 
Configuration
1. Open a browser. Log into the Web UI of the UTT Business Router (default IP address 192.168.1.1, username: admin, password: admin).
 
2. Go to User Management > User Authentication > Authentication Settings > PPPoE > Configuration.
 
3. Enable Mandatory PPPoE Authentication (All the clients must dial up with PPPoE accounts. Exception Group can be configured if there is an IP address which does not need to connect the network through PPPoE account, please refer to configuration step 4 - 6) and Save configuration.
 
4. Go to System Object > Address Group, click Add
 
5. Configure the Group Name. If the Group Name applies to only one IP addresses, both Start IP and End IP should be configured as the same. Then click the right arrow button to add them to the Address Members List and Save configuration.
 
 
6. Choose Exception Group at PPPoE Authentication Configuration and click Save.
