How to Change the Number of WAN Ports on a UTT Business Router

Introduction
When ISP lines are increased or decreased, the number of WAN ports on a UTT Business Router should be changed accordingly. This document describes how to alternative WAN and LAN ports.
 
Prerequisites
1. a UTT Business Router (hereinafter shorted as “the Router"), such as UTT router N518W, AC750W, AC750GW, AC1220GW, ER518 and ER840G. Firmware Version: 3.0.0 or above
2. a PC/laptop connected to the Router wirelessly or through an Ethernet cable
 
Configuration
There are two ways to change the number of WAN.
 
1. Configuring at Global settings, device will restore to factory default.
Go to Network > WAN > Global Settings > Number of WAN, the default WAN number is 2. Select 1 to decrease the number of WAN ports to one or select 3, 4 to add more WAN ports. Then click Save.
 
A window will pop up to alert that the Router will be restored to factory default settings after the configuration. Click Confirm to save the change.
 
2. Editing numbers on configuration file, save current configuration
Configuration on the Router can be exported or imported on System Configuration > System Maintenance.
 
Open the configuration file with .txt extensions software or windows note, etc., manually edit the number of ports and save the changes. Import configuration file System Configuration > System Maintenance. (Numbers must be reasonable and match the supportive ports.) DO NOT change any other data in the file if it is unnecessary.
