Network Environment
As shown in the following figure, a company uses two HiPER 510W 3G wireless VPN routers, which are denoted as YW-1 and YW-2 respectively. YW-1 is directly connected to the Internet through a wired Internet connection, while YW-2 is connected to the Internet through YW-1. Most of wireless clients are connected to YW-1 to access the Internet, while the remaining wireless clients are connected to YW-2 to access the Internet. To achieve this, we need to configure YW-2 to act as an AP client of YW-1.
Configuration Steps
1.Configuring YW-1
2.Login to the Web UI of YW-1.
3.Select WAN1 in the Setup Wizard – Internet Access Mode page.
Go to the Wireless > Basic page to select AP Mode from the Operation Mode drop-down list,and configure other basic wireless settings as required, see the following figure. In addtion, please take note of the SSID and Wireless MAC Address of YW-1, which will be entered on YW-2.
Go to the Wireless > Security page to configure wireless security settings, see the following figure.

2.Login to the Web UI of YW-2.
3.Select WAN1 in the Setup Wizard – Internet Access Mode page.
Go to the
Wireless > Basic page to select
APClient Mode from the
Operation Mode drop-down list, enter YW-1’s SSID in the and wireless MAC address in the
AP SSID and
AP MAC Address text boxes respectively, set the
Channel,
Wireless Mode and other security parameters to the same values as those of YW-1, and configure other basic wireless settings as required, see the following figure
Viewing Connection Status on YW-2
On YW-2, you can go to the Network > WAN page to view connection status in the Internet Connection List, see the following figure.
