How to Configure Port-Based VLAN on a Router

This document applies to the firmware version HiPER 811 V10.3.
User Requirements

It is required that hosts connected to different LAN ports of the HiPER 811 cannot communicate with each other. This can be achieved through the port-based VLAN feature.
Configuration Steps

Go to Advanced > Switch page, see the following figure.

Set a VLAN ID for each LAN port respectively.

The LAN ports that have the same VLAN ID will be grouped into a VLAN. End-user hosts become members in a VLAN based on the physical port to which they are connected. The hosts in the same VLAN can communicate with each other, but they are unable to communicate with hosts in different VLANs.
Note: All internal hosts must be on the same subnet. If hosts in different VLANs are not on the same subnet, they can communicate with each other through Layer 3 routing.
