How to Configure PPTP Mobile User VPN Client on Windows XP System

Configuration

1. Right click “My Network Places”, select “Properties”, then click “Create a new connection”, as shown in Figure 1-1:

3. Select  “Connect to the network at my workplace”, click “Next”, as shown in Figure 1-3:

4. Select “Virtual Private Network connection”, click “Next”, as shown in Figure 1-4:

5. Enter one name for this connection, it’s custom, here use “utt” as an example, click “Next” , as shown in Figure 1-5:

6. Select “Do not dial the initial connection”, click “Next”, as shown in Figure 1-6:

7. Enter PPTP Server IP you’re going to connect,, click “Next”, as shown in Figure 1-7:

8. Select “Anyone’s use”, click “Next”, as shown in Figure 1-8:

9. Click “Finish”. 
10. In the pop-up window, click “Properties”,as shown in Figure 1-9:

11. Select “Security”, select “Advanced (custom settings)”, click “Settings..”, as shown in Figure 1-10:

12. For “Data encryption”, select “Optional encryption(Connect even if no encryption)”, for “Allow these protocols”, check on related information, as shown in Figure 1-11:

13. In the pop-up window, click “Yes”, as shown in Figure 1-12:

14. Next click “OK”, as shown in Figure 1-13:

15. Enter “User name” and “Password”, click “Connect” to connect PPTP VPN Server, as shown in Figure 1-14:
