WX1000 Work In Gateway Mode Configuration Steps

Introduction

This document describes WLAN Controller works in gateway mode configuration steps.

Prerequisites

Requirements
Eg:
Default SSID:  Staff       IP Address:192.168.1.0/24     VLAN 1(default);
SSID 1:       Support    IP Address:192.168.10.0/24     VLAN 10 ;
SSID 2:       Customer   IP Address:192.168.20.0/24     VLAN 20;
 
Components Used
UTT WLAN Controller: WX1000; Firmware Version: WX1000V1.9.3-140609;
UTT WLAN in-wall AP: WA1300N; Firmware Version: WA1300NV1.9.3-140514;

Configuration
  1. Configure System Mode. Go to Network >System Mode page, select Gateway Mode, next click Save,as shown in Figure 1-1:
    Note:It need to restart the device to take effect after switching mode.

  1. Modify default WLAN. Go to AP Controller > WLANs > WLAN List page, click default, as shown in Figure 1-2, next modify wireless SSID and Password, then click Save,as shown in Figure 1-3:

  1. Create a new WLAN:
    Create a new VLAN Interface. Go to Network > VLAN Interface > VLAN Interface List page, click Add, as shown in Figure 1-4, next configure it, then click Save, as shown in Figure 1-5:

Create a new DHCP Address Pool. Go to Network > DHCP Server > DHCP Address Pool List page, click Add, as shown in Figure 1-6, next configure it, then click Save,as shown in Figure 1-7:

    Create a new WLAN. Go to AP Controller > WLANs > WLAN List page, click Add, as shown in Figure 1-8, next configure it, then click Save,as shown in Figure 1-9:

  1. Create new WLAN ‘Customer’ as the same as creating WLAN ‘Support’, after that, go to Network > VLAN Interface > VLAN Interface List page, you’ll see the list of VLAN Interface (VIF 10,VIF 20), as shown in Figure 1-10:

Then go to Network > DHCP Server > DHCP Address Pool List page, you’ll see the list of DHCP Address Pool (vlan10,vlan20),as shown in Figure 1-11:

Then go to AP Controller > WLANs > WLAN List page, you’ll see the list of WLANs (default,SSID1,SSID2),as shown in Figure1-12:

  1. Join WLAN. Go to AP Controller > AP Management > AP List page, select one list, then input password(password is “admin” by default), click Admin, as shown in Figure 1-13, then click Join WLAN, as shown in Figure 1-14, then select the WLANs which you want to join, next click Join WLAN, as shown in Figure 1-15, after that, you will see “Joining WLAN Please Wait”, as shown in Figure 1-16:

Then go to AP Controller > AP Management > AP List page, you can see the SSID of WLANs which you have joined in the AP,as shown in Figure 1-17, then you can connect to the SSID to have a test.
