How to Configure Web Authentication on UTT Router

Introduction

This document describes how to configure Web authentication which is based on SE version. If you enable Web authentication on your UTT gateway, those non-PPPoE dial-up users cannot access the Internet through the UTT gateway until they have successfully authenticated.

Prerequisites

Requirements
The client who wants to access the Internet must enter the account and password.
 
Components Used
UTT Wireless Router: AC750W; Firmware Version:  AC750Wv1.7.0-141217;

Configure

1.Create Web Authentication User accounts:
Go to “User Management > Web Authentication > WebAuth Account Settings”, click “Add”, as shown in Figure1-1:

Specify User Name, Password, Billing Mode(Optional) and Description(Optional) for the user account, then click “Save”, as shown in Figure 1-2:

You can view the user account in the Web Authentication Account List, as shown in Figure 1-3:

2. Enable Web Authentication:

Go to WebAuth Global Settings page, Enable Web Authentication, then click “Save”, as shown in Figure 1-4:

3. Using Web Authentication:
After enable web authentication, if a non-PPPoE dial-up user tries to access any web page before authentication, it will automatically be redirected to the web authentication login page, asking for authentication, then you need to enter the User Name and Password, next click “Login”, as shown in Figure 1-5:

After login successfully, a pop-up window will be shown to the user, as shown in Figure 1-6:

Note: This window keeps the user session open, so it should be kept open until the user disconnects from the UTT gateway.

4. Viewing Authentication Status:
Go to WEB Authentication Client Status page,the network administrator can view the IP addresses and user names of all the users that are authenticated to the UTT gateway, as shown in Figure 1-7:
