Introduction
This document describes how to setup bandwidth limitation on a UTT business router.
Prerequisites
Requirements
The client that wants to limit a specified user(s)' bandwidth.
Components Used
UTT Business Router: AC750W;(Or other UTT Business Router, firmware version: 1.7.0 or above)
Configure
I. Setup bandwidth limitation for all users;
- Login the Web GUI of the UTT router (make sure your computer’s IP address is in the same subnet of the router. UTT router’s default IP address: 192.168.1.1)
- Goto Qos > Fixed Rate Limiting, and then click Add button to create a rule.
3. Choose All users, and set each users' bandwidth, here we take 2M as Max. down bandwidth and 1M aas max. up bandwidth, click Save to active the rule.
II. Setup bandwidth limitation for specified users;
- Goto Network > DHCP Server, check the DHCP pool address that you have assigned. Here we found the current assigned DHCP address pool starts from 192.168.1.100 to 192.168.1.200.
2. Goto User Management > User Group, and then click Add button to create a user group
3. Setup the IP addresses that you want to limit the bandwidth, and then click save to active the rule. Here we take 2 IP address ranges(192.168.1.110 to 192.168.1.120;192.168.1.130 to 192.168.1. 140); Please make sure that the IP addresses in the group are in the same subnet mask of LAN;
4. Goto Qos > Fixed Rate Limiting, and then click Add button to create a rule.
5. Choose the group that has created and set each users' bandwidth, here we take 2M as Max. down bandwidth and 1M as max. up bandwidth, click Save to active the rule.
II. Setup bandwidth limitation for a user;
1. Goto
Qos > Fixed Rate Limiting, and then click
Add button to create a rule.
2. Choose the IP address from 192.168.1.201 to 192.168.1.201 that has created and set each users' bandwidth, here we take 3M as Max. down bandwidth and 1M as max. up bandwidth, click Save to active the rule.
Tips:
- The IP addresses set in the user group should be in the same subnet of the router's LAN.
- If your internal PCs(Laptops) obtain the IP addresses mannually, it's suggested to set IP MAC binding to avoid ARP spoofing and to ensure the bandwidth limitation that is working properly. Refer to knowleage how to setup IP MAC binding for more details.
