How to Configure PPPoE Server on a UTT Business Router

Introduction
PPPoE server is commonly used solutions in the network for apartments, rental houses, hotels and so on. With a PPPoE server configured on a UTT business router, clients can get authenticated and managed easily.
 
Prerequisites
1. a UTT Business Router (hereinafter shorted as “the Router"), such as UTT router N518W, AC750W, AC750GW, AC1220GW, ER518, ER840G and ER4240G. Firmware Version: 3.0.0 or above
2. a PC/laptop connected to the Router wirelessly or through an Ethernet cable
 
Configuration
1. Open a browser. Log into the Web UI of the UTT Business Router (default IP address 192.168.1.1, username: admin, password: admin).
 
2. Go to User Management > User Authentication > Authentication Settings > PPPoE > Configuration.
 
3. Specify PPPoE Server Authentication and save configuration.
 
4. Go to User Management > User Group, create a user group.
 
 
5. Add users to the group and setup PPPoE Account, click Save.
 
 
6. Enable PPPoE Server at User Authentication > Authentication Settings
 
Note
PPPoE Authentication account configuration will be much easier with the template file rather than specify PPPoE account one by one. Please refer to How to Batch Import User Group to a UTT router to do the configuration.
