How to Protect Your UTT SOHO router

Introduction

This document describes how to protect your router via different ways.

Prerequisites

Requirements
People need to protect their router, don’t allow others visit, here are there functions can be used:
  1. Router's Password
  2. Wireless Password
  3. MAC Filter
 
Components Used
UTT SOHO router AC650W;    Firmware Version: nvAC650Wv1.8.0-150319;

Configure

1.Router’s Password:
Enter the router's web Interface, go to Application > 2 >Password page, as shown in Figure 1-1:

Click Password icon, then enter the new password, next click Save. After finish, you need to use this new password to login the router again, as shown in Figure 1-2:

2. Wireless Password:
Enter the router's web Interface, go to Application > Wireless page,  as shown in Figure 1-3:

Click Wireless icon, then you can configure wireless password for 2.4GHz and 5GHz: as shown in Figure 1-4:

3. MAC Filter:
 Enter the router's web Interface, go to Application > MAC Filter page,  as shown in Figure 1-5:

Click MAC Filter icon, then Enable MAC Filter, select Filter Mode(Here we use White List as an example) , then click Save, as shown in Figure 1-6:

Enter the MAC you allow to access Internet, then click Save, as shown in Figure 1-7:

After finish the above operation, only the users whose MAC Address is in the MAC Filter List can access the Internet, as shown in Figure 1-8:

If you only want to block some users, select Filter Mode as Black List, the users whose MAC Address is in the MAC Filter List can’t access the Internet.
